Program Overview

Program Description

KG - Gr. 2: 
Gr. 3 - Gr. 8:
Take a snowshoe hike through forest and meadow habitats to investigate animal migration, animal hibernation, signs of winter animal activity, and plant dormancy.

Program Availability
Module available from mid January to early March, dependent on seasonal weather. In the case of minimal snow accumulation, a hike without snowshoes is possible.

Program Length:
KG - Gr. 2: 1.5 hours
Gr. 3 - Gr. 8: 2 hours

Cost:
$9/student
No charge for teachers & adult volunteers

Booking Details
Maximum one class per booking due to limited equipment and staff

When booking, please select your arrival time at rare as your booking time and ensure you’ve confirmed travel duration in advance. Once submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email and a calendar invite. If you don’t receive these, please check your spam/junk folder first; if still missing, contact education@raresites.org.

If there are no issues with your booking, you won’t hear from us again until a few days before your visit. We’ll reach out sooner if any clarification is needed.

Subsidies:
At rare, we strive to provide opportunities to get Every Child Outdoors. Please reach out if program or transportation fees present a barrier for your students to participate in our field trips.
